Daily Digest

The Daily Digest is issued every weekday by 10:30 a.m. Eastern time. Through the Daily Digest, our readers are linked to the top stories in the morning's news media from around the world. The stories are on the latest evidence-based health research and on policy that affects how people make decisions about their own health care. We monitor news events daily to provide background information and interview ideas for breaking stories and to suggest newsworthy trends in health behavior for feature stories. We also alert journalists by e-mail when a previous study or evidence review might be of use in contextualizing a breaking story.

Health Behavior News Service

The Health Behavior News Service (HBNS) was created to increase coverage of new research findings about behavioral, social, environmental and economic influences on health and access to health care. HBNS regularly reports on important new findings and distributes those news stories — for free — to the media for international dissemination. Working with peer-reviewed medical journals and systematic review providers, HBNS translates scientific evidence into clear language for everyday readers. HBNS also strives to increase patient engagement through the Prepared Patient series: features on how people can better navigate today's health care system.
